Stoll Group
Robert Stoll
CEO

Robert (“Boyo” to his friends) is a 77-year-old young timer and a serial entrepreneur.
He recently defended a doctorate on the transfer of SMEs in the absence of natural heirs.

His thesis centered on filling a little researched gap: how can a “Patriarch Emeritus” achieve an ethically defensible balance between a “Hard” objective (maximizing the selling price of his SME) and a “Soft” one (ensuring the sustainability of the work of his lifetime)?

The case study of the transfer of one of Robert’s SMEs shows that combining the OBO and LMBO models with two PE investment funds and a “dream team” of “intrapreneurs”, can yield an excellent compromise.

The next question consists of how the resulting funds should be redeployed in several types of assets including in private equity.
Dr Robert Stoll holds an MA in philosophy and economics from Oxford University, an MBA from INSEAD and a DBA from the Business Science Institute and the University of Lyon.
